Offered "Directory…" represents the second, added, expanded and specified edition of the directory which published by us in 1998. Its basic and main difference from the previous edition may be considered a significant expansion of the information given here both about separate persons, and about the whole regions.
The directory contains information on 408 persons working with molluscs in the period from 1998 till the end of 2003. The information on the persons died in the specified period is present as well. The part of the persons included earlier in the first edition "Directory" subsequently was removed for various reasons (impossibility of connection, absence of the address, change of objects of a research/collecting, the personal request, etc.).
The structure of the directory contains the following basic sections. The General part includes the basic available information on each mentioned person. The Geographical Index includes lists of names, located in a place of their basic residence or work at the moment of drawing up of the directory. The Taxonomical Index in which the mentioned persons are located in alphabetic order inside the groups of the basic objects of research.
We hope, that the present edition will help you to find the colleagues living and working in territory of the former USSR. Except for names, addresses and places of work, you will find here other additional information concerning professional interests, publications, objects of studying or a collecting and other.
