The present work is based mainly on published data, except some original data on ecology and distribution of some species. Basic data on distribution given after last cited publication in references paragraph, additional data cited separately. Original data are mainly based on the research collection of the author and, in some cases, unpublished data received from another persons. Received data were checked and verified by author as well as possible. For most species a short list of basic synonyms and incorrect citations is present. Complete references on original description of all species and subspecies are given. In most cases references on last important publication(s) with detailed review of the species and subspecies are given also. All original illustrations of shells come from the author’s material. In total the list contains 739 species and 42 subspecies excluding nominate ones with most of them illustrated. Short key for listed families and some genera is offered. The key include both conchological and anatomical characters and based on study of previously published data of various authors. The given key originally compiled by author. The list of bibliography contains 447 titles.
